Commission

a Furniture Piece

  • Every commission piece starts off with a conversation with Sam. The main purpose of this chat is to understand what you are looking to get made. This conversation will help to outline things like the design, timber selection, function, budget etc. Sam will also be able to show you examples of previous work, timber samples and answer any initial questions you have.

  • The design process begins by forming a brief - this information is gathered in the initial conversation. From this brief, Sam will design various concepts in CAD, where he will show you visual representation of the potential designs. Once the final design and price has been agreed upon - a 50% deposit is required before starting manufacturing.

  • Once the design has been finalised, manufacturing will commence. Based on the complexity and size of the project, lead times will vary. Something small like a side table will have a different lead time to a larger item like a dining table. Sam will let you know a lead time before starting the commission piece. Updates on the work will be sent to you throughout the manufacturing stage.

  • Sam will personally deliver the furniture to all Mebourne metro clients free of charge. This is also a great time to ask any further questions you have about maintenance and care for your commission piece. Delivery to regional, interstate or international clients can also be arranged.

Commissioning a Piece.

We strive to create the perfect furniture piece for you. With a background as a designer, Sam is able to guide you through the entire design process and bring your own bespoke piece to life. To begin the commissioning journey, you will be shown concepts, sketches, timber samples and 3D models to help visualise the design. This back and forth may take as long as you require to finalise your perfect piece. All details such as materials, finishes, sizes and price will be outlined at this stage before commencing.
